The Phat Cup is a Tri-Annual Northern California Challenge. The Tournament started as a 6-team event and has grown to an 8-team event and continues to grow. The teams are comprised of 6 Medalist rated players at a team point cap of 50 points. Each team has a Sponsorship "Bar Normally" and individual entry fees that total $300. The number of teams per medalist city/zone is based on operators. Often each city/zone has more teams than allowed to play which in turn leads to a qualifying playoff before the cup. All teams are to be pre-registered with their local operator. The tournament has four legs, First Leg- a team 01 round, Second Leg- a trios Round, Third Leg- a doubles round, Fourth Leg- asingles round. The Six Player Team that wins the event based on points gets the main prize purse as well as the PHAT CUP to take to their home bar. The winning team's sponsoring bar holds the next Tri-Annual Phat Cup.
